He can begin spinning a new plate on a fresh stick if none of the plates require his attention.
A similar balancing act is a central part of our life. You must constantly alternate between paying close attention to one thing and getting a broad perspective in order to achieve balance in life and harmony. Like the circus performer, you must gain perspective in order to see any imbalances. You can intervene and direct all of your effort toward rebalancing that area of your life once you can determine where the imbalance is plainly present. Then you leave, take a fresh look around, identify another area of life that is out of balance, enter to restore it, and so on. Because things never seem to stay balanced on their own for very long, it is a continuous process.
One or more aspects of your life will suffer if you ever lose focus in your concentration (concentrate on one area for too long without considering the other areas) or overview (observe the imbalance without taking the necessary actions to remedy it). You only need to concentrate on all the crucial areas, however, the circus performer is compensated to constantly strive for more. This is the main distinction between you and the performance.

The wheels’ alignment determines balance on an external level. It involves rearranging our priorities in accordance with the situation and concentrating on the specific wheel that is out of alignment. Our work life may require more attention at some stages in our lives than our personal lives.
Our attitudes and values are a deeper component of the balance that dwells inside us. That mindset is comparable to the air in a car’s tires.
